The Hands of Fate

Love intensifies like a laser beam

It hurts and restricts until it’s hard to breathe
Only karma can see how many hearts you break.

How many souls you chew up and spit out by the week
There’s a charge for my deeds, made payable to fate

Who sits by her strings, to lacerate hope
Each new tear to well from somewhere within

Rejects pain from the inside with each salty sting
To deserve devastation seems an unjust crime

But fate only works elsewhere in my life

Humanity removed, I’ve no need for fuel

Every organ will coat, every feeling ignored
My heart’s in your hands, do as you choose

If I have choice left then I’ll use it on you
Whilst I remain unscathed and un-bruised

From all the bitterness, held back by youth
I’ll be open and honest in the light of truth

I want you, I choose you, for you I will wait
But outside of what you decide is next

It’ll all be left in the hands of fate.
