For My Lover's Fate

For my Lover's Fate I stand aloof
Covered by a thickened veil
For I darn't let such a fiery truth
Reek anarchy over whom I hail
Perhaps from within this guarded state
All romance tucked in sentiment
-which in itself is tucked away
Can I protect a heart so fickle
A heart which beats so far from mine
Despite our bodies intertwined

I know for whom your heart dost beat
Yet she sought out betrayal
I know your fears and vital woes
But knowledge is no currency
In the economy of Love

To disappear from custom haunts
Remove me from distracted thought?
Yet aback I stand, for moral sake
Forbade myself from sole mistake
Which only lead to empty promise
-sealed with a lover's kiss untrue

Yet as I kiss each eyelid
To each tender cheek, to lips
I mean each one a thousand times
And forever I would kiss
A whole horizon for just one lonely ship
It's sails fly proud in a sea so vast
It travels, yet not from sight
Nor, alas, in touch.

In lack of choice resentment rears
My lonely ship sails on at risk
But in my limitation rides
No greater sign of fear.
For my love conceals the riggins
The decks, the crow's nest, the crew!

But my heart out on horizon's belt
Mysterious seas afont
I cannot find mistake in risk
Or in your knowledge wait
So for my Lover's Fate
I remain aloof
As love does not equate to trust.
