Thursday brings a year in age
For Friday's Child to grow and change
A lease of life again renewed
To start afresh if you so choose
It may seem this landmark day
Stands down, inferior
Fails to take
Importance in the grand exchange-
The passing of a Loved One's soul.
To the diamond mine he goes
Where he is safe, where he can shine
And stain ubiquity upon your life
Now the bearer of this flame
Take him through, the good you'll do
The lives you'll touch
Not in his place
But by his side
Where he'll always remain
To love and give, birth-right dictates
Virtues to bear
And never to change
Yet now we're blind to memories new
What more is sight but selfish gain?
We have in mind last words to say
Hold your brother gone, yet near
Keep your memories running clear
For Thursday brings the grand exchange
Now Friday's Child can come of age.
